Schools, colleges, universities, industries, NGOs, resident associations, service organisations, CSR teams, youth groups and other interested institutions can adopt a designated forest patch or roadside plantation.
At present, forest adoption is intended for institutions and organised groups. Families and individuals are warmly encouraged to participate as volunteers or join through local groups and community initiatives.
Yes. Companies can support forest conservation through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives by adopting plantations and participating in conservation activities.
Absolutely. Students can take part through their schools, colleges, universities, Eco Clubs or NSS/NCC units. It's a wonderful opportunity to learn about nature while making a real difference.
The Forest Department continues to own, manage and technically guide the plantation. Adopting institutions support conservation activities under the guidance of Forest Department staff.
Yes. Citizens who wish to contribute without adopting a forest can participate in plantation drives, awareness programmes and other conservation activities organised by the Forest Department.
After approval, a suitable forest patch is allotted, an orientation is provided, and your organisation can begin conservation activities in partnership with the Forest Department.
Yes. Individuals and organisations who wish to support forest conservation in other ways may contact the Forest Department to explore available opportunities.
Yes. Participating institutions receive appreciation certificates, official recognition, opportunities to be featured on the Division's website and social media, and may be considered for monthly and annual conservation awards.
Forest Department staff regularly monitor the health and progress of adopted plantations. Periodic visits and conservation activities help ensure long-term improvement and survival.
A forest patch or roadside plantation is generally adopted for two years, during which the adopting institution actively participates in conservation and maintenance activities.
No. Participation in the Namma Aranya – Namma Hemme programme is completely free. Citizens and institutions contribute their time, enthusiasm and commitment towards forest conservation.
